Stretching helps to improve your overall flexibility and is an important part of your training. This allows you to move your muscles and joints through their full range of motion. Remember, muscles that are warmed prior to training are more likely to handle the stress placed upon them. Therefore, reducing injury to the body parts being used. Also, tight muscles are not able to function like it should. Keep in mind, stretching with poor technique can make a stretch less effective and can cause more harm than help.
